September 17th, 2002 For Immediate Release:
On Saturday Oct. 19th, 2002, Eagle Fest will open with Al Jewer playing music of the Native American Flute, then local group Clarity, from the Flanagan/Blackstone area who include Nate Steinback, Jeff Tammen, Mitch and Toad Tannahill are scheduled to appear playing original alternative rock. Then Trim, a hard rock act from Carbondale, IL featuring Ryan Kavinski (formerly of Ottawa) Scott Mueller and Dave Murdoch. From Albuquerque, New Mexico comes country music artist, Gabriel Lee, who has written music specifically for this event. We will be enjoying Great Plains Gypsies, featuring Dan Whitaker, an Americana, folk blues, rock and country four piece band out of Chicago. Wrapping up the evening will be Philadelphia born John Condron with his band. Condron will be performing original rock from his album, "My Own Device".
On Sunday Oct. 20th, 2002, we open with the act Betty Ford who are Kevin Steder, Josh and Jordan Daniels, of Marseilles, IL . The Bruises, Aja Blue (formerly Marseilles) and Jennie Black of Peoria will perform an original acoustic set. Country artist Gabriel Lee will take the stage. The band Remedy, who are Brian Roberts, Jimi Castro, Randy Kouba and Jeff Gargas from Chicago will appear playing original melodic rock and roll. Closing the evening will be local country music artist Steve Sharp and his band. Steve Sharp had the country music album of the year in 1998.
Through out the event there will be special guest artists and speakers appearing making for a very interesting couple of days of fun, music, and community awareness.
The Majestic Theatre is located at 119 N. Vermillion St., Streator, IL.
